From Viking Lore to Digital Fortresses

Rooted in Old Norse vernd (protection). Built with Danish clarity and Portuguese engineering. Designed for the modern world.

We Built the Fortress That Refuses

In a world of data breaches, surveillance capitalism, and broken privacy promises, we asked a simple question: what if your digital life was truly, mathematically yours?

Verndr was born from the intersection of two traditions. The Danish commitment to clarity, simplicity, and trust. And the Portuguese heritage of engineering excellence and maritime resilience — the same spirit that launched ships into the unknown.

We named it after the Old Norse word vernd, meaning protection. Because your data isn't a product to be sold. Nor is it a power to be wielded by governments or corporations.

Information is power — and that power should be yours to keep, share, or withhold as you please. It's a saga to be guarded, not harvested.

Mission & Values

Privacy Is a Right

Not a feature. Not a premium add-on. Privacy is foundational to human dignity and must be the default, not the exception.

Transparency Over Trust

We prefer math over marketing. The web vault encrypts in the browser. Published audits will appear on the security page when they exist.

Resilience Without Compromise

Viking-grade means no shortcuts. Client-side AES-GCM and passphrase-wrapped keys — not slogans about defense agencies.

The Saga So Far

2024 — The Spark

The idea for Verndr takes shape after a series of high-profile data breaches expose hundreds of millions of personal records. The founders commit to building privacy that actually works.

2025 — Foundation

Brand identity established with Viking-Norse heritage. The vault product direction is set: client-side encryption, not a hosted plaintext store.

2025 — Vault work

Web vault engineering continues. Eirvr, Klixr, and Klarvr remain product directions — not certified or generally available satellites.

2026 — Soft launch

Marketing site live. Web vault is invitation-only Alpha. Desktop clients for Verndr and Eirvr are the beta vehicle. Paid plans and certifications come later.

Built by Privacy Obsessives

A distributed team of cryptographers, engineers, and designers who believe privacy is worth fighting for. We're always looking for like-minded Vikings.
